Why should they (which is the tax payer) pay you for you to learn a new trade – can’t you do the same thing you did before drawing long term benefits.?

If you don’t have an NVQ level 2 or equivalent, like 5 GCSE passes at level C and above, then yes, you should be able to get a full-time course funded. Talk to a local college which offers trowel trades courses. You may not be able to get on a course yet, though, as the academic year has just re-started, but do ask; you never know.

They will pay for some of it but not all. But if you find a plastering business employer they may also employ you part time and pay for some of your course too.

Are you not able to get a bar job or anything to save a bit of money so you can pay for it? There must be a way you could contribute as well. The government is less likely to pay anything if they dont think you really want it so you should work hard and pay your bit so they know you’re serious and dont just want free stuff.

If you have found a course you want then call them up and ask about scholarships and government funding. (my info applies to UK)

There are I believe some "back to work schemes" available for those returning to work As an employer we are approached every so often and asked if we would consider employing someone as an apprentice. Free of charge to us. These kids are normally between 17 and 21 years old and not in education. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these "learn to be a Plasterer/Plumber/roofer/electrician in a week courses" They are an absolute waste of time. You will have to start at the beginning whatever trade you decide to follow. Find a reputable company and start there. You will get assistance from the benefits agency if you are on low wages and have a family. You will be on low wages to start with. It will be worth it though, stick with it. Any tradesman worth his salt did not learn his trade from some poxy course. The very best of luck..

Best chance is to:-

1. Change your religion
2. Leave the country
3. Become a national in your new country
4. Enter UK as an Illegal immigrant
5. Get free house and plenty of money
6. Apply for a plastering course (and it will be free)
7. Guaranteed job after the course even if you fail

Am not familiar what your governent gives as benefits to citizizens in your country, but if it gives free education, then as citizen, it should pay you to get a plastering course.
