I started business as a sole trader.I took a plastering course to qualify for my trade. Are the fees allowable?

No, the course is not an allowable deduction for tax – the course only puts you in a position to do your job, it is not an expense of earning the profits of your trade like the materials you buy or the fuel you put in your van to get to the jobs.
