How long does it take to do a plastering course and be a fully qualified tradesman.UK only.?
level 2 1 year i day a week at college, then site/work experience sufficient to get the nvq, however long it takes you to do the required tasks, write them up and get someone to accept them as satisfactory.
level 3 1 year 1 day a week at college. plus the work experience to get the nvq 3
level 3 is either solid or fibrous, or both if you have the time.
look at 3 and a half years + to get nvq 3 if you havent done anything so far
its a skilled trade to do it well, any trade can be ’semi-skilled’ if you are poor at it or dont care. fibrous and restoration is highly skilled

Your best route to a correct answer on this one – would be to contact the Employment Service or Careers Advice. They are far more qualified to give you the information you’re looking for !

Week to do the course. About 3 years to get good at it!
For fancy plastering (moulding etc) 10 weeks & 10 years.

Three years apprenticeship and taking and passing your City & Guilds tests.Anything else and you may be a plasterer but not a fully qualified tradesman.Look on the bright side,it used to be five years, then you left the firm you served and went to another for three years until you became a journeyman then you could take the test and if you passed your masters you became a master crafstman. That’s where the word came from, you were judged by other masters on your’ masterpiece’

In the UK it is only a semi-skilled trade. It is not difficult to learn, it is getting the skill in your hands that takes the time. Hard work. Bit of a dying trade with all these prefabricated materials being used.
(When I was at college plastering, along with bricklaying were classified as semi-skilled trades. House Painting and Decorating, carpentry and plumbing were fully skilled.)
